A new model for neurodevelomental screening
(continued from page 1)

This format was so successful, that Judith will again be devoting several days in Chicago to screen children and adults alike, and to provide families guidance in implementation of a few pivotal activities to help them get a handle on problematic behaviors. Development of this format came at a propitious time in the country's economic condition, since the screening sessions, with follow-up on an as-needed basis, can be provided at a significantly reduced cost in comparison with a full HANDLE assessment and development of the

therapeutic program.
Catherine Stingley has been providing screening services to a few schools in Homer, Alaska, for two years. With the success of these programs, the schools are eager to continue contracting for these services. Judith plans to train practitioners in other parts of the country to provide this service, now that she has piloted it and smoothed out the ruffles of implementation in metropolitan centers.
Any family wishing to schedule a screening will be required to attend a Community Information presentation or to

listen to the 75 minute audiotape that provides insights into HANDLE philosophies.
Any school wishing to offer screening sessions to its families, with teacher support in implementing recommendations, needs to have at least three staff members who have participated in a two-day introductory training.
This new model, with continued consultation from a Certified HANDLE Practitioner, will begin to bring HANDLE into the general community. With this, another segment of our mission will be actualized.

A 75 minute audio-tape presenting HANDLE theory and practice is available by calling or              e-mailing the Institute.
