Who Can Benefit From HANDLE?
HANDLE has achieved significant results among diverse populations with varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds. The nervous system, including the brain, is designed to adapt continuously throughout a lifetime, so one is never too young or too old to benefit from a HANDLE program.
Who We Serve
The HANDLE Institute offers services to:
Professionals and organizations such as:
- Therapists, physicians or other professionals who wish to become informed about non-invasive, non-drug treatment alternatives and “brain-based interventions”
- Caregivers, and direct contact staff in organizations, such as group homes, adult day programs, nursing homes, who can incorporate the HANDLE Approach into their services
- Teachers, who can implement elements of the HANDLE Approach into the classroom
- Organizations that wish to provide continuing education for their staff
Parents and other caregivers who:
- Want a holistic, home-based, non-drug approach
- Want to get to the root cause of learning difficulties, including sensory processing problems, physical difficulties, and emotional or behavioral problems
- Want to enable stronger neurodevelopmental foundations for higher learning and academic success
- Want the person in their care to be to be better able to adapt and respond appropriately to the demands of changing environments
- Want to enable improved memory, organization, task completion
- Suspect unresolved sensory processing problems
- Want an approach that treats the person as a whole, taking into account interdependent physical and mental influences within each individual

While seeking to address the whole individual, HANDLE acknowledges labels and diagnoses as a form of shorthand to describe clusters of symptomatic behaviors.
